Claudia Schmid has an individual style of drawing and painting, creating more and more her own world which is peopled by unusual creatures both in human and animal form. These are mostly friendly, amusing and occasionally disturbing but all are decidedly peculiar.

Claudia has been working as an illustrator for many years, and has illustrated a number of books; she received the Troisdorf Award for best Book Illustration in 2004.

The subject matter of her paintings and drawings gradually appear as she works through shapes (and sometimes colour) combined with lines that can be quite abstract to begin with.

When it comes to animals, the odder they are, the more we love them, this drop-in session gives us a chance to see the funny side of our unappreciated physical characteristics.
